Texas Auctioneers Association inducts Boerne Auctioneer into Hall of Fame
Fort Worth, Texas, June 29, 2013 – Forres Meadows, CAI, BAS, ATS, of Forres Meadows Auctioneers, Inc / TexasBid.com and Fundraising Auction Events, Boerne, Texas, was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame of the Texas Auctioneers Association on June 29th during the 57th annual Texas Auctioneers Association Conference in Fort Worth, Texas. Meadows is the 33rd inductee since 1987.
One of the state’s leading Online Auctioneers and Benefit Auctioneers, Meadows began his career in 1989 after earning his Texas Auctioneers License. He started his company as its only Auctioneer, and later his wife, Laurie, helps him run the business.
In the 1990s and 2000s, Meadows made a name for himself through estate and business liquidation auctions plus fundraising auctions. Meadows has sold millions of dollars of personal property as well as helping charities raise over 10 million dollars in his career.
Committed to the future of the auction industry, Forres has been a role model and mentor to his fellow auctioneers as an instructor conducting seminars on Technology at state conventions, National Auctioneers Association and at the Certified Auctioneers Institute. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors, and 2009-2010 2nd Vice President and officer of the Texas Auctioneers Association. Forres earned the Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI) designation in 1995, Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) in 2007 and the Auction Technology Specialist (ATS) in 2009.
A supporter of his local community, Meadows is serving also as Kendall County Constable, Pct. 3 for the past 15 years. Meadows auctions have strongly supported the local women’s shelter, nature conservation, local fire departments as well as numerous other charities. He still remains active with local charities.
In addition to being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Forres also competed in the Texas State Championship Auctioneers Contest and earned 1st Runner-up (Reserve Grand Champion) for the coveted title. There were over 200 in attendance at the conference in Fort Worth.
